Our church was founded in 1964 by an original group of 100 members. Over the years, we have had four full-time ministers: Rev. John Graybill, Rev. Richard Wittington, Rev. James Lockhart, and Rev. Carol Merritt. In 2008, we welcomed our fifth full-time minister, Rev. Patrick Notley. Our church building, located on a main street, is designed in a Japanese modern style around three sides of a garden courtyard.
Since our founding, we have remained a caring, committed, family-oriented congregation. We reach out to communities on the east side of Narragansett Bay and southeastern Massachusetts, as well as the city of Providence, drawing a gifted membership with a wide variety of talents and experiences. As a church body, we know of God’s great love, and we hear a call to go and share that love. Together, we commit our hearts, minds, spirits, talents, and gifts to express our faith in a secular world and to help serve the needs of society.
